Group G 美国 USA

对于一个在大多数体育领域都曾经领先的国家而言，美国在四年一度的世界杯足球赛上很没有存在感。

洋基队在世界杯上的最好成绩是在1930年取得的第三名。此后，除了在2002年韩国/日本世界杯的时候，他们甚至未能进入四分之一决赛。在1954年至1986年，他们甚至未能晋级世界杯决赛阶段。

但中北美巨头已经开始注重此项运动了，全力以赴，终于连续两次获得世界杯资格，甚至在2013年还夺得美洲赛金杯。

2010年在南非世界杯上，美国1-1英格兰，2-2斯洛文尼亚，1-0阿尔及利亚，虽然在16进八中以1-2负于加纳，但是却第一次赢得小组第一。一年之后，他们连续第四次冲进北美金杯赛决赛，但却2-4输给了墨西哥。

屈辱的失败还是让他们当时的主教练鲍勃·布拉德利下课，接替他的是前德国队主帅克林斯曼。

For a nation used to dominating most sports, United States have a hard time making their presence felt in world football, especially in the quadrennial FIFA World Cup.

The Yanks’ best finish in the history of the competition was when they finished third in the inaugural World Cup in Uruguay 1930. Since then, they failed to make it even to the quarter-final, except in South Korea/ Japan 2002 when they finished eighth overall. For a long spell from 1954 to 1986, they even failed to qualify for the World Cup.

But the CONCACAF giants have become more serious about the sport, going all out to top their qualifiers for the second straight time and even pushing to regain the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2013.

In South Africa 2010, US won their group for the first time in their history after drawing England 1-1, Slovenia 2-2 and defeating Algeria 1-0, though they bowed down to Ghana 1-2 in the Round of 16. The year after that, they reached their fourth consecutive CONCACAF Gold Cup final but lost to Mexico 2-4.

The humiliating loss brought an end to their impressive run, and their then-manager Bob Bradley was replaced with former Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

葡萄牙队是C罗，C罗就是葡萄牙队！

简单地讲，他的发挥，直接决定着葡萄牙队能在巴西走多远。

俱乐部风光无限的C罗曾经参加过2006年德国世界杯和2010年南非世界杯两届赛事，一共打进过两球，被人诟病国家队的他和俱乐部的他不在一个水平线上。但在预选赛附加赛与瑞典队的两回合比赛，C罗已经证明了自己，他几乎是凭借一己之力，带领对于以4-2战胜伊布领衔的瑞典，赢得了一张宝贵的世界杯门票。

For the third consecutive time, Portugal passed through the eye of the needle to make it to a major tournament via the playoffs, their latest courtesy of none other than the Real Madrid ace himself.

After winding up second in their qualifying group, Ronaldo led a 4-2 aggregate victory over the Zlatan Ibrahimovic-led Sweden that booked them a ticket to Brazil.

Showing why he is the best player in the world right now, the classy forward scored all four goals over the two legs in a dazzling display that elicited oohs and aahs. Rising to the occasion, his hat-trick saved his team from the brink of being eliminated as Sweden came up short.

Group G 德国 Germany

东、西德统一后，德国还未曾获得世界杯冠军，尽管他们一直被看做是世界足坛的“常青树”，但是他们发现，在世界舞台上赢得最终胜利并非易事。

1990年意大利世界杯上，德国赢得冠军，此后，统一的德意志仅仅一次进入过决赛，那是在在2002年，德国以0-2不敌巴西。在2006年德国世界杯，与2010年南非世界杯上，他们都打进四强，但是却无缘决赛。

在世界杯欧洲区预选赛C组中获得头名后，德意志目标直指冠军奖杯，在预选赛中，他们赢得了10场比赛中的9场，并且打入了惊人的36球，这是在预选赛阶段进球数最多的国家，他们唯一未拿下的比赛是和小组第二瑞典队 4-4战平的那场。

Germany are still in search of their first ever World Cup since the country’s reunification, and even though they continued to be perennial powers in world football, they find it hard to “win it all” in the world stage.

Since West Germany won the 1990 World Cup in Italy, the unified Germans have only reached the World Cup final once, in 2002, and they lost to Brazil 0-2. They reached the competition’s semi-final in the last two events in 2006 in their home soil and in 2010 in South Africa, but they failed to advance to the final in both tries.

The Nationalelf are once again superpowers and are favorites to lift the major trophy in Brazil 2014, after topping Group C in the recent World Cup qualification Europe. They won nine games out of 10, and scored a whopping 36 goals, the most scored by a nation in the European qualifiers, while conceding only 10 goals in the fixtures. Their only hiccup was a 4-4 draw against Group C second placers Sweden.

Group G 加纳 Ghana

这将是他们第三次出现在世界杯决赛阶段，对于那些对非洲国家不熟悉的球迷来说，加纳似乎比较陌生。

但是，加纳是非洲大陆上最成功的球队之一，在国际足联球队的的排名上占据第24位，这确实是合理的。

在加纳足球协会的经营下，非洲黑星在1963年、1965年、1978年以及1982年赢得了四次非洲杯冠军，并且他们也在1968年、1970年、1992年以及2010年获得了此项赛事的亚军。

此外，加纳足球队在1992年的奥运会上获得铜牌，这是非洲球队第一次获此殊荣。

Making their third appearance in the FIFA World Cup competition, Ghana may seem to be a new player for those who are unfamiliar with the African country.

However, the Black Stars are one of the most successful clubs in their continent. And with FIFA ranking them 24th in the world, it is easy to know why.

Administered by the Ghana Football Association, the Black Stars of Africa have won the Africa Cup of Nations four times in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982. They also have finished as runners-up in 1968, 1970, 1992 and 2010.

Furthermore, Ghana hold the distinction of being the first African football team to win a medal in the Olympics when they won the bronze medal in 1992.
